A Little Late Start To My 2018 Goals
So, I’m off to a pretty rough start. It’s the 10th day of January and I haven’t even been consistent with my blog posts, which BTW was number 1 on my list of things I want to accomplish in 2018. The meme that’s going around on instagram that says “My New Years Resolution starts in February” couldn’t be more relevant to my life, but I guess it’s never too late to start any goal. Not only that, I’ve also decided to change my number one goal. Instead of “being more consistent on my blog posts”, I’ve decided to change it and focus more on making time for myself, which automatically includes the things I love to do - like creating content and building my blog.
So here it goes, a mentally revised version of my list of things I want to accomplish in 2018:
Make Time for the things I love to do. In short, learn how to stay BALANCED. This includes posting regularly on my blog, riding bikes on the beach, and staying on top of my gym schedule. The end of 2017 was rough because I started my first year of my Doctors of Chiropractic program and the things I love to do basically fell off the face of the earth. This took a huge toll on me because my life went from traveling the world to not stepping out of the house for months.
Start A Business Plan As I get closer to finishing my degree and having a professional career, I’ve become more and more serious about starting my own business. For years, I’ve wanted to create my own sports and bikini line because I feel that it represents who I am creatively. I also want to start my own Chiropractic office that includes a yoga and pilates studio so that it can be an all-in-one Fitness Med Spa. This years business plan will include developing a timeline, researching manufacturers, reaching out to these manufacturers and setting a wholesale budget for my online sports wear line. Next year, I’ll start a plan for my Med Spa.
Travel during every break. I’m 25 and I feel like I’m naive when it comes to other cultures and religions. I want to learn more about other people, the way they live, and why they live that way. I want to eat different foods and dance to different rhythms. It’s hard to get out of your comfort zone when you’re stuck in your own ways so this is a great way to learn something different and get out of my bubble.
Move Back to Los Angeles I recently moved to Huntington Beach to be closer to my new school. Unfortunately, I’ve come to find out my life is in Los Angeles - My boyfriend, my friends, the job opportunities I get but have to miss because of travel time. Everything I know, and everything that has helped me develop who I am is in Los Angeles. I plan to move back once my lease is up so the search for an affordable apartment is on my priority list.
Continue Thriving in School I may complain about how school is taking over my life and how I have no time for the things I enjoy to do but I have to remind myself to not forget about the bigger picture and why I am here. I can’t forget that starting my graduate degree used to be a major goal back in the day. I’m here, I’m thriving and It’s all part of my big (business) plan!
